826 Valencia Tenderloin Center wins the AIA San Francisco 2017 Special Commendation Award for Social Responsibility

IA is honored to have received the 2017 AIA San Francisco Special Commendation Award for Social Responsibility. The 826 Valencia Tenderloin Center is a transformative project converting a dilapidated corner-liquor-store into a space of learning and delight where children become authors and the poet-laureates of their community. The whimsical retail space provides the “front” for an inclusive safe-haven for the imaginations of the neighborhood.
