Our Park Valencia project in San Jose is nearing completion and was featured in the San Jose Mercury News! Minna Street DREAM:shop honored with Kirby Ward Fitzpatrick Award from the Architectural Foundation of San Francisco
On Thursday, May 12th, at the Architectural Foundation of San Francisco Annual Awards Breakfast, INTERSTICE Architect’s Minna Street DREAM:shop was honored with the prestigious 2016 Kirby Ward Fitzpatrick Award, for excellence in Architectural Design. DREAM:shop is as a minimalist “open-ended” event space for an avid maker-client and his creative partners to experiment and ideate. Located in the central Mission, this simple plywood lined tube serves as a hybrid space for office, event space, laboratory and workshop all organized around a single three level vertical service core of reclaimed myrtle Wood. Andrew Dunbar Serves on Jury for 2016 AIA San Joaquin Awards
INTERSTICE Principal Andrew Dunbar was invited to serve on the AIA San Joaquin Valley 2016 Awards, held on April 15th at the Old Administration Building at Fresno City College. Andrew served alongside fellow Architects Jana Itzen of Itzen Architects in Santa Ana and Jason Silva of Dreyfuss + Blackford in Sacramento, as well as San Joaquin Cultural Editor Donald Bee and Joe Moore, Director of Program Content at Valley Public Radio. MOUNTAIN:house featured on Cover of NH Home Magazine
We are pleased that our MOUNTAIN:house project is featured on the cover of the March 2016 New Hampshire Home Magazine! Written by Debbie Kane and Photographed by Greg Pemru, the project was also one of the big winners of the 2016 NH Home Magazine Design Awards, taking home two different awards for Architecture and Home of the Year Honorable Mention.
Sunset Parklet on Cover of SPUR’s The Urbanist Magazine
A big thanks to the team at SPUR for featuring INTERSTICE Architect’s Sunset Parklet on the cover of the most recent issue of The Urbanist, SPUR’s print publication. The Parklet, located in the Sunset District in front of the Other Avenues Food Co-Op and the Sea Breeze Café was completed in 2014, offering seating for eating, and gathering. MOUNTAIN:house Wins two 2016 New Hampshire Design Awards
We are thrilled to announce that INTERSTICE Architects won two 2016 New Hampshire Home Design Award for Excellence in Architectural Design, and the 2016 Home of the Year Honorable Mention! for our MOUNTAIN:house project. Located in Bartlett, New Hampshire, MOUNTAIN:house is a secluded, peaceful, year-round residence designed for avid mountain enthusiasts. Surrounded by the White Mountains National Forest, the clients wished to be intimately connected to the lush surrounding elements with materials comprised of local slate, concrete, and exposed plywood. The raw material palette draws inspiration from woodsheds, barns, and rough-hewn mountain lodges; creating an atmosphere that is at once contemporary and timeless. AIA SF Walking Tours: SF Botanical Garden November 12th
On Thursday, November 12th at 2pm, IA will be leading a tour of the San Francisco Botanical Gardens in Golden Gate Park as a part of the AIA San Francisco NEXT conference, a gathering of the best minds in the Bay Area building and design community. Registration for the conference is being held at the County Fair Building in Golden Gate Park, so if you are planning on attending the conference, be sure to join the tour!

INTERSTICE Principals speak at 2015 Monterey Design Conference
Over the weekend, INTERSTICE principals Zoee Astrachan and Andrew Dunbar were among a select group of emerging and internationally recognized architects to be invited to speak at the 2015 Monterey Design Conference, an annual gathering which brought together the country’s leading architects and design thinkers for an intellectually vibrant weekend at the Asilomar Conference Grounds in Pacific Grove, California.
